Celia Bosman (née Venes) Bio

Born in the United Kingdom, Celia’s early ballet training was with the Madeleine Sharp School of Dancing. In 1974 Celia performed with Madeleine’s Sharp’s school in front of Queen Elizabeth II at the opening of The Royal Academy of Dance headquarters in Battersea. She then went on to receive an RAD Scholarship and completed her training at The Royal Ballet School in London. She has performed with The Royal Ballet, the Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet and the National Ballet of Portugal. Since retiring from the stage, a desire to stay healthy and her love of music and dance, led to her career branching out into the Health and Fitness arena with a focus on ballet. Celia is now based in Christchurch, New Zealand where she teaches ballet to adults of all ages. Celia became a RAD Silver Swans Licensee when the programme was brought to New Zealand in July 2019 and she was asked to facilitate a Silver Swans demonstration in front of HRH The Duchess of Cornwall during her visit to Christchurch later that same year. Celia teaches eight Silver Swans classes each week. Six classes from the studio in Christchurch New Zealand and two live classes on-line via Zoom to Silver Swans all over the world. Over 70 Silver Swans attend regular classes. Celia regards the RAD Silver Swans classes as a fantastic programme to bring the joy and benefits of ballet to dancers of all ages.
